Visiting Distinguished Fellow
Each fall, Ethnic Studies brings an outstanding, nationally recognized scholar to campus (virtually or in person) as our Visiting Distinguished Fellow to teach ETHN 890, a one-week, one-credit-hour graduate course, and to offer a public lecture.
Melissa Tehee of Utah State University taught and lectured during the fall 2022 semester.
Spring Celebration
Each spring, we celebrate another year of success and service with our Spring Celebration, which brings nationally recognized speakers to campus for lectures and receptions with students, staff, faculty, and the public.
Colloquia and guest speakers
We offer regular colloquia in which a panel of our faculty members discusses issues relevant to current events and to their own research and then facilitates a community discussion of the topic. We also regularly host guest speakers who talk on a variety of topics. All our events are free and open to the public.
