Kellie Hagewen
Kellie Hagewen () has a joint appointment as an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Ethnic Studies. Kellie graduated with a B.A. in sociology and psychology from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. She then earned her M.A. in sociology at Kansas State University. Most recently, Kellie has been a NIA Predoctoral Fellow in Medical Demography and the Demography of Aging at Duke University on the Department of Sociology and the Center for Demographic Studies. She received her doctorate in sociology from Duke University in the summer of 2005. Her areas of specialization include health and health care utilization over the life course, social inequality and health care, social demography and racial/ethnic inequality. Her dissertation dealt with developing a modified behavioral model approach for understanding health care service utilization among Hispanics in the United States.
